My baby refuses to sleep unless he is being held or snuggled?

This has resulted in him ending up in our bed at night, which I know is not safe nor ideal (he is 6 weeks tomorrow). He will cry though unless he is held and then he immediately falls asleep. He is a very good baby, exclusively nursed and is totally happy as long as he is held. I've tried letting him cry at night and it wont stop he will do it for over an hour and my husband has to get up at 4:30 to go to work. I want to transition him to the crib at around 3 months but since I nurse him and he wakes every 2 hours at night to eat, I don't want to put him in crib yet. Thanks!

PSAT Help bad score!?

Hi everyone, I am a Sopre and I have a 4.2 GPA including AlgII/Trigg and AP Human Geography, plus other courses. I received my PSAT score and I got a 151 and here is the break down.....53 Reading......49 Math....... 49 Writing. Ironically, I am very strong in all of those areas, especially math. Given the cirstances, I did not study AT ALL for the PSAT and that was also the first time I had ever seen an exam in SAT format. Also I'd like to mention that I came back from my trip to New York (I live in Singapore 12 hr time difference). BUT BUT BUT! I purchased an SAT prep book and I actually find it kinda challenging; I'm very worried that I will get a bad score on the real thing. I am currently trying to prepare and I am aiming for a score above 200, I really believe I can do it, but my lack in test taking skills will probably hinder me - what should i do?

Serious speeding ticket question?

I had my license suspended about 1 year ago and I got it back after 6 months. That time I was wrong and plead guilty. But just today at 6:15pm, I was on HWY 75 in Cartersville, GA, and I was in the far left lane doing approximately 80 mph with cruise control. A car was coming so fast up behind me and I sped up to over take a truck and the next thing i saw a volkswagon fly by in the far right lane, and as soon as i overtook the truck the undercover car's blue lights came on and i got cited for 110 Mph. I know i wasnt doing 110. So the cop asked my y i was speeding and i didnt say a word. I was trying to move out of the way out of courtesy. I dont get it. He was following the volkswagon and then he came so fast up right behind me and i moved out of his way and he pulled me over and said 110 mph in a 70. now the Georgia law says anyone under 21 who is doing 24 or more gets their license suspended for 6 months. and he said i was doing 40!! what kind of options do i have. I really cannot afford to get my license taken away from me a second time. i work and go to school. I'm in serious trouble. I just need some honest and sincere advice. thank you. Why is my subwoofer making a humming noise?

Whenever we are done watching a movie and the movie ends, we hear a humming noise from the subwoofer. It is all plugged into a Monster Power surge and line conditioner, as is all the av components. If I turn down the gain on the sub, it goes away, but there is no b during the movie. Turn the gain up, everything seems okay until like I said, the movies over. It is an older JVC 5.1 receiver, and a JBL 10" sub.Sub is powered and only has line from receiver and power to Monster strip. Any ideas?

Serious Marriage issues...family influence?

Hello...2 years ago I married a women whom I had known and worked with for close to 3 years. We dated for almost a year before deciding to take the plunge. About 6 months into our marriage my wife became ill and was placed on medication including steriods to help with pain. Over the past year and a half our marriage as reached the brink and my wife has dropped into a deep depression. She has directed alot of her rage towards me when I have done nothing but support her throughout the entire 2 years. My wife has children from a previous marriage and I have been the mother and the father to them during this period while working full time and maintaining the home as well. Friday she reached the end of her rope and I ahd to make a decision to seek help for her since she would not for herself. She is now getting the help that she needs. My family is encouraging me to leave her and file for divorce and begin a new life, but I can seem to get the courage to give up on a women with so many issues, regardless of how mean and cruel she is to me. idk seems like you could handle it. i commuted into the city for a semester and I HATED IT! it was like an hour and a half with traffic...sometimes up to 2 hours. you can never count on how long it will take you because traffic is so random. just the traffic itself put me in a bad mood everyday because people are such bad drivers. i always had to deal with road construction or thered be an issue with parking. i'd be exhausted just by the time i got to school...and i hadnt even had my first cl yet. a lot of days it seemed like i spent more time sitting in my car then i did in a clroom. the time i spent sitting in traffic, i could have been doing something more productive like working. idk for me it didnt work out. not sure how it will work for you.

I'm not going to lie--I get immensely jealous when one of my friends tells me that they did something with their brother--ANYTHING! My brother and I look very much alike (facially + bodily); however, I am taller than him, and I know this gets to him. He is 3 years older than me, so when he was going to be a senior in HS, I was going to be freshman. He told me that I wouldn't get a good education at his current school, so I decided to go to a different school, which was probably the worst decision I have ever made. It was very run down, and ghetto...for example, someone got stabbed at homecoming my freshman year. When I confronted him about this when I was almost ending HS, he told me that he just didn't want somebody that looked like him walking around. This angers me a lot, and I know he still feels this way. He's turning 22 and there still have been very little changes. Whenever we go out as a family, I can't even talk to him. He'll get angry for no reason. He also treats his friends better than me--this summer, I have to take a few summer courses, and I was going to live in our family-owned apartment that's about 2 minutes from campus, but he told me that I would have to wait so he could talk to his friend who is his roommate. Okay, first of all, I am your brother, and secondly, it's just for a week! I would rather traverse 45 minutes to school every morning for summer school because I know he will be a complete while I live with him. He doesn't get this, or else there's something else about it. I really don't know what to do beyond this point. He is nice to EVERYBODY except me. I am fed up with this and I am losing him in having a real brother. It makes me so jealous when I hear about how two brothers talk about the girls they've been with or done this and that...ya. So much for that with my brother. Any ideas on what's up with him or what I can do?

I am a non-exempt salaried employee. I do however get docked in pay if Im a couple hours late coming in or out for the day. The question I have is for this month (Oct 2008) Our paydays are 5th and 20th of every month. We have already been paid for this month. Time sheets are due the 15th and 30th of every month. The next pay period our 80 hours are already completed, so this entire week (Oct 27-31st) we are basically working for free. YET!! if I am late or absent this week, I get docked in pay from my paycheck on Nov. 5th. No one in HR at my POE can give me a staright answer. My husband recently purchased books for our son. He reads him Dr Seuss, Goodnight Moon, The little engine that could etc. He even does the voices. But I just do not get it. I have this One spot on my upper inner left thigh close to my knee that hasn't stopped itching for 4-6 months now. It's the same exact spot and itches every day no exaggeration. Am I in the wrong??????

So I'm a rising Senior in High School, and at my school we have prefects who have like extra responsibilities, but they also have extra benefits like being the most trusted people in my school. Unfortunately I did not get prefect for senior year, but now all the people who are prefects think that they have power over me. They keep telling me what to do etc. which I absolutely hate. I detest when people my age tell me what to do and expect me to do it. They get really pissed off though when I don't do what they tell me to do, but I don't think that they can tell me what to do because they were never legitimate candidates in the first place. At my school our discipline system functions like this. They catch you doing something wrong, then you meet with the discipline committee which is composed of Students and Teachers, they hear the arguments and then suggest a discipline to the Head of School who always takes it. You are then placed on probation that lasts either 3 terms or the rest of your time at school. My problem is that a lot of the prefects have had DC's (they have been disciplined and placed on probation) before. they shouldn't have even been considered because of that. The two biggest things that piss me off are: 1. We have an orientation week for new freshmen boarders, and the leaders in my grade at that orientation hazed them and got DC's for it. The 3 that did it are now prefects, 2 in a freshman dorm and 1 in the sopre dorm with the kids they hazed. That is ridiculous, if you haze freshmen how can you get prefect? Also one of those kids had previously had a DC for beating up my roommate freshman year, so he beat up a kid and hazed people and still got it. That is illegitimacy. Since power comes from the consent of the people and I refuse to see their legitimacy, does that make them right and me wrong?

Mothers of fed babies please answer. I have a 10 month old whom I would like to have fully weaned by 12 months. As of now, she will eat her baby food and juice throughout the day. But when it's nap time and time to go to sleep for the night, she wants to be fed. I think it may be soothing her to sleep. It is more difficult to play basketball then baseball if you never played before. The motion of swinging a bat at a ball is much easier then shooting a ball into a basket. Also dribbling takes skill. In baseball, you just have to run to the base. Defense is more difficult in baseball though. It's harder to field then it is to play defense in basketball. So, actually after rethinking it i'd say equal. Because the offensive part is more difficult for basketball while the defense is more difficult for baseball.

My mom has really been mentally and emotionally abusive. I had to set bounderies with her and she couldn't stop undermining me as a parent, and trying to control my life. She has this way of 'getting in my head' and telling me how to think and feel and act. She never did hear my bounderies, so I had to push her away harder and harder. Finally I had to get rude, and she FINALLY heard that, but wouldnt' stop. So I had to move away with my kids. Things are a little better now. She said 'someday, I will see that she speaks the truth'. I told her to stop trying to have one up on me with 'someday you'll understand'. She tried and tried to convince me that my dad is bad and that he is 'a master manipulator' and that is the truth. I became upset which made her realize that "I" was not ready for this conversation.

Are the Yankees making the same mistake they made with Joba by moving Hughes to the rotation?

Well Joba was brought up as a reliever and the Yankees decided to try him as a starter instead. Hughes on the other hand is a starter and always has been. He was only in the bullpen last year because we didn't feel he was ready to start. It's much easier for a natural starter to take time in the pen then for a pen guy to become a starter, so I don't expect any of the adverse effects we saw with Joba.

Computer and external issue !!!!!?

I have been using a program called magic dvd ripper to rip dvds to my external. I have only been using one laptop to do this. Last night my laptop updated automatically. This morning it was still updating so I left it be I got back from work and started up my computer and I had noticed that it had deleted folders and pictures off of my external. so I restored my computer back to yesterdays date. Here is the thing when I opened my external the deleted folders were there for about 5 second then they went away again. I have restored two times and they reappeared both times but then went away. I need to know how to get these back it has also made some files in the external non operational they say that they are corrupt. HOW CAN I FIX THIS it is very important I have lost over 3000 family pics.

HOW TO BLEACH HAIR CORECTLY WITHOUT DAMAGE?

Do not bleach it twice! There is no cirstance where you would ever need to bleach twice. There are 10 levels of color, bleach can lift 6 and dye can lift 4, so you never need to bleach again as the dye will tone and lift. Apply the bleach to dry hair 1/2 an inch from the scalp and ends, apply it there 10 minutes from the end of the processing time. Wash that out in lukewarm water and towel dry it. Then apply the blonde dye in the same manner (1/2 an inch from the scalp and ends). It must be an ash blonde to tone out the orange that pops out when you bleach. Get an 11A(ash) and a 40 volume developer from a supply store that sells to the public, like Sally's (mix them in equal proportions). You can also tone with the semi-permanent stuff for white hair if you would like it even lighter. Do it right after bleaching, if you wait you are risking a lot of breakage. All bleach is equally damaging, but Jerome Russell works the best, you can buy it in a kit at most drugstores. If you need anything else you can e mail me.
