Why many Spaniards do get angry when I say that South America?

They probably take pride in their countries, most of us do. They like their culture, may think you are a racist. And this question is a bit racist in my opinion. You may find England as amazing and prosper-able, but they could think of it as "cultural backwardness". This probably isn't the answer you are looking for but it is something important that you should hear.
