I hate being a temp?

I became a temp in August in a pretty big company in the accounting department doing accounts payable. I wanted to become a temp to get experience in an office. I think I am getting great experience but these b***h's are driving me crazy. The girl in payroll is never at her desk but somehow she has convinced her husband that she is the hardest work one there. They have another temp that has been there for TWO years and she likes to sleep at her desk. They say they can't hire me even though I work so hard because of budget reasons. I say get rid of the old sleeping temp and hire me. But they say they can't get rid of her to hire me. And I have applied for tons of jobs and only of few call backs. I have going crazy. Anyone else experience this?
