A spot on upper thigh Near knee that won't stop itching?

I have this One spot on my upper inner left thigh close to my knee that hasn't stopped itching for 4-6 months now. It's the same exact spot and itches every day no exaggeration. Sometimes after I scratch it will slightly burn which is the closest description I can give as far as pain wise. I haven't seen a doctor because I afraid he will think that it's nothing worth looking at. I couldn't find anything on this searching online. So I fig if anyone on yahoo answers has exp something simlar they could give me an idea of where to start.
